How to set up Lectern

The application relies on its data from warehouse and unique ID (NNE) is used for binding each lectern to vehicle it stands next to. The lectern application can be used in dealership and in public places.

There is standard reset period of 2 minutes (of inactivity) set for the lectern, this function will make sure that the data on home screen is always reflecting the information of the binded vehicle, even in case user has made any changes on the lectern.

1. Configure the iPad

These settings are necessary to configure in case the Lectern is used by customers, in a stand.

First of all it is important to set up the iPad in a way that auto lock and automatic brightness is disabled.

To configure the device for the ticket stand make following changes in device configuration:

  • Disable auto-lock. Open Settings > Display & Brightness, choose Auto-Lock: never
  • Disable automatic brightness. Open Settings > Display & Brightness, choose Auto-Brightness: Off
  • Enable Guided Access. This setting makes sure that it is not possible for users easily closing the app and do possible harmful activities. Open Settings > General > Accessibility > Guided Access, turn on Guided Access, select Passcode Settings to set the PIN for unlock, turn on Accessibility Shortcut.

    • To start a Guided Access session, follow these steps:

      1. Open eLectern

      2. Triple-click the Home button to activate Guided Access, then triple-click one more time to open settings toolbar

      3. Set Time Limit Off

      4. Adjust other settings for the session, and then tap Home to go back to eLectern
  • Make sure that iPad has 4G or WiFi connection.      


 

 



2. Install Lectern app

Next, install the app and configure it:

  1. Open App Store, type "lectern" into search.
  2. From search results find app Lectern (provided by Modera Software) and install it.
  3. After installation open the Lectern app and type in the URL that is binded to your Dealer Website Package in form of http://www.dealerurl.eu/lectern2.

 

3. Set up Lectern

Now the app opens the URL and the device is ready for installation to the sales floor.


  1. Open Lectern app, verify that the ticket counter is displayed.
  2. Enable Guided Access by triple-click on home button. While Guided Access is active the app cannot be closed.
  3. Place the device inside the stand and connect power supply.

4. Configure Lectern

Lectern can be used in many purposes. It can be used in stand next to the car, on the table for customers to explore or outside of the dealership for exhibition.

  • To use on the stand beside the car enter NNE number and Salesfloor.
  • To use without stand select "Proceed without binding".
  • To use as exhibition outside the dealership enter NNE number and External.

To return to the main selection “drag” dealer logo to Brand logo.
